1. Who we are
This website is operated under the trading name Elendil Technologies, based in the United Kingdom (“we”, “us”, “Elendil”). For the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, we act as the data controller for any personal data we collect through this website.
Any questions about this policy can be sent to contact@elendiltech.com.
2. What we collect
This is an informational website. We do not run user accounts, sign-up forms, or e-commerce on this site. The only personal data we knowingly collect is:
- Email correspondence. If you write to us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message.
- Standard server logs. Our hosting provider may record technical information such as IP address, browser type, referrer, and timestamps for each request, in order to operate and secure the site. We do not actively analyse this data.
We do not currently use marketing trackers, advertising cookies, or customer-profiling tools on this site.
3. Why we collect it
Our lawful bases under UK GDPR are:
- Legitimate interests — to respond to enquiries and to operate and secure the website.
- Legal obligation — where we are required to retain certain records under UK law (for example, tax or accounting records relating to invoices).
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for marketing purposes. The only third parties who process data on our behalf are:
- Our website hosting and DNS providers.
- Our email provider, used to send and receive correspondence.
If any of these providers operate outside the UK, we rely on UK adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses to protect the data.
5. How long we keep it
We keep email correspondence only as long as needed to respond and keep a reasonable record of the conversation — typically up to three years. Server logs are retained only for short operational periods set by our hosting provider. Records we must retain by law (e.g. tax records) are kept for the periods required by UK law.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Have inaccurate personal data corrected
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Restrict or object to our processing of your personal data
- Request portability of your personal data
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@elendiltech.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the latest version. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
